History

In October 1882, a group of young men formed what they called “The student’s Mineralogical Club of Philadelphia. That club, now known as the Philadelphia Mineralogical Society, is the second oldest such group in the United States. Illustrious past members include Sam Gordon and Arthur Montgomery.
